Tasting note: Very intense black cherry colour. Complex aromas with the freshness of violets associated mainly with Syrah, the red fruit, cherry, red currant and plum jamtaste of Cabernet Sauvignon and the blue berry confiture and toffee flavours of Cabernet Fran. Typical of bottle-aged wines of the region.

Abadal Reserva 3.9 – 1999

ESAB9910

Tasting note: Highly intense cherry colour with brick tones. Initally aromatic, with balsamic notes of liquorice and mint, followed by ripe plum, with fresher notes of red fruits. Backdrop of vanilla and spices originates from its aging in barrels. Full and robust on the palate, with definite soft round tannins with a long evolution and a cocoa and cassis finish.

Arzuaga Gran Reserva 1996

ESAZ9610

Tasting note: Entails 5 years maturing before this wine reaches the table. Promise of a fuller range of finely tuned and subtle aromas and flavours, with a richness of nuances and complexity but always, as befits a Ribera del Duero, without losing its original fruit and the magic of the terrior.

Arzuaga Reserva Especial 1998

ESAZ9810

Tasting note: Intense cherry coloured red which reveals light brick tones around the edge. The wine has a powerful nose with balsamic and aromatic wood notes over an intense base of stewed fruit. It is full and well rounded on the palate with strong but mature tannins and a superb consistency of sweet fruit with hints of cedar and eucalyptus produced by ageing.

Arzuaga Reserva 1998

ESAZ9811

Tasting note: The colour is deep cherry, but the rim is slightly more ochre-toned than in the crianza. The nose confirms the longer stay in the wood, with more complex aromas added to the sweet fruit notes. In the nose and the palate there are reminiscences of fine wood, toasty notes, nuances of cocoa. Forcefulness and elegance meet in the glass, and this wine calls for slow, thoughtful enjoyment.

La Planta 2003

ESAZ0310

Tasting note: Fruit aromas. Red fruit hints and floral finish. There is a smooth hint of vanilla and the fruit complementing each other. Full & agile. This wine starts smoothly, just a few carbonic keeping the fruit character. Fruit flavours, red and citrus fruits flood the palette, vanilla and cinnamon. Red fruits and fresh blackberry. The acid gives happiness. The mature tannins and the glycerine complemented each other.

Arzuaga Crianza 2002

ESAZ0210

Tasting note: On the nose, this wine is expressive, complex and frank. There is a huge aromatic palette remembering black fruits (blackberries), which are well blended with liquorice and the particular fine wood hints of the winery. On the palate, it is delicious and special; smooth and silky. There is a first impression of elegance very difficult to get in a such complex vintage as 2002. There is a perfect balance. This is a round and pleasant wine, with an extraordinary present and a significant elegance.

Gran Arzuaga 2002

ESAZ 0211

Tasting note: Flagship wine of Bodegas ARZUAGA Navarro. The wine has a red colour full cherry of brightness, with violet borders. It has a very high and deep layer. A great aromatic trowel floods the senses. Aromas to assembled mature red fruit to noble wood perfumes begin like the mahogany. They follow a mixture of aromas cacao and alcohol cherries; this is surrounded progress makes us arrive brushstroke that remember the cedar with spices so unmistakable of these plots. It is a flavourful and surrounding wine; emphasizing a length without comparison. The structure fills the mouth with silkiness sensation and demonstrates a great class. All this tannic power is accompanied by those aromas to ripe fruit and tobacco fine notes. This wine can seem austere, although it already expresses extraordinary qualities and reveals a fabulous potential.
